  I have never had such a great experience with a hospital. I had my baby during the time of Hurricane Irma and the hospital accommodated my family and I nicely. Each member of my family had a free meal each day during our stay due to the hurricane. My family also stayed with me the entire week in my room as per hospital practice. The hospital even invited over a hundred pregnant women close to their due date to stay at the hospital just in case an emergency was to happen during the storm. This type of courtesy is common for Memorial. Because each time I needed assistance a nurse was available. Almost all the nurses went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. From giving me their personal scented lotion to finding my son the last bowl of macaroni and cheese from the kitchen as there was nothing else that my child could eat. The best part was the birth itself. I had a scheduled C-section and was saddened that I would miss out on the natural birth experience of skin to skin. I was so shocked when they immediately placed my baby on me to breastfeed, and to my surprise she latched easily. This early moment was crucial and I believe that the first latch was probably what made my milk come easily. Memorial is really a top-notch hospital and I’m so happy I had my baby there.
